Former TS Galaxy Striker Dzenan Zajmovic Eyes Kaizer Chiefs Move as Pirates Rule Out Interest

Former TS Galaxy striker Dzenan Zajmovic is currently a free agent and has emerged as a potential target for Kaizer Chiefs, while Orlando Pirates have reportedly shown no interest in signing him. The Bosnian forward, who netted eight goals for the Rockets last season, is eager to return to the PSL after spending time without a club.

Zajmovic has attracted attention from North African clubs, but his preference remains a move back to South Africa, where he feels at home. In an interview with KickOff, the 30-year-old confirmed that two PSL teams have reached out to him, though he chose not to reveal their identities.

“Two clubs from the PSL have already contacted me,” Zajmovic said. “South Africa is a beautiful country with a strong league, and I would love to continue playing there with a new club. My family and I had an amazing experience, and I will never close the door on returning.”

While speculation had linked him with a move to Orlando Pirates, reports from Soccer Laduma suggest that the Buccaneers are not considering him as an option. A source close to the situation revealed that Zajmovic is more likely to explore opportunities in North Africa, particularly Algeria, where former TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic could play a role in securing his next move.

“Right now, Pirates is not a likely destination,” the source stated. “There have been talks, but nothing concrete. The stronger possibility is a move to Algeria, where there is interest, and reuniting with Ramovic could be a factor.”

Kaizer Chiefs, meanwhile, have already added Portuguese striker Flavio Silva to their squad this month, but with the new signing yet to make an impact, the club may still be in the market for an experienced forward like Zajmovic. His proven goal-scoring ability in the PSL makes him an attractive option as Chiefs look to strengthen their attack.

As the transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether Zajmovic will secure a deal with Chiefs or if he will opt for a fresh challenge outside South Africa. For now, the striker remains open to all possibilities as he weighs his next career move.
